Itinerary
Arrival / Day 1
Set sail from St. Peter’s on the Bras d’Or Lake into the Atlantic Ocean for a circumnavigation of storied Isle Madame. We’ll start the day with a transit through the historic tidal lock canal and head for Arichat, the shiretown of this Acadian Island and our stopover for the night. Enjoy a full-course dinner at the Island Nest, with accommodations and breakfast at the Clairestone Inn. Shuttle service is provided between our dock and the Inn.
Day 2
We’ll continue our circumnavigation westerly, heading out of Arichat Harbour and then northerly and easterly through Lennox Passage. This is a scenic coastal cruise in the waters separating Isle Madame from Cape Breton, and we’ll make our way past the lift bridge at Burnt Island, where a causeway connects the islands. We’ll make port in d’Escousse, and you will check into The Groundswell Inn & Pub – a short walk from the village wharf, for dinner and overnight accommodations.
Day 3
At your leisure we’ll depart d’Escousse Harbour for some coastal ocean sailing, and depending on weather and your preferences, we’ll return to the lake early enough to explore St. Peter’s inlet and maybe a swim in the warmer waters here. You will arrive back at our home dock in St. Peter's for check out around 5 pm.
