Now Booking for the 2016 Sailing Season

Daysailing Charters with Captain from June 11 through October 17, 2016

"This is the ideal green travel experience..."

(A comment from one of our very first guests.)

Set sail aboard the yacht Misty Cat for an unforgettable daysailing adventure departing from St. Peter's - where a historic tidal lock canal connects the Atlantic Ocean with Cape Breton's magical inland sea... the Bras d'Or Lake.

Your adventure begins here, where you'll meet your captain to board Misty Cat.

Misty Cat running past Cape George, approaching the Bras d'Or Lake.

First, we'll take a look at the wind and weather forecast, then we'll chart a course for the day's sailing adventure based on sea conditions and your preferences: sightseeing in St. Peter's Inlet and the Bras d'Or Lake – where you're likely to find eagles, hawks and cormorants overhead and herons along the shore, or perhaps a transit through the historic tidal lock canal into the ocean – where you might find a pod of pilot whales swimming, or seals sunning on the rocks.

Brush up on your sailing skills, or take some instruction from the captain.

Either way, you'll be surrounded by beautiful vistas with plenty of good photo ops, and  a chance to handle the helm and the sail - brush up on old sailing skills, or take an introductory sailing lesson from the captain.

We'll sail into a cozy anchorage for lunch where you can swim from the boat, or stay on board to trade stories and learn a bit about the nature, history and maritime culture of Cape Breton.

Your daysail charter should be booked in advance - please look at our Book your Sailing Experience page for more information, prices and availability; and don't hesitate to call or write us if you have any questions.

The Bras d'Or Lake Biosphere is a UNESCO-designated Biosphere region comprising a huge salt water estuary and its entire watershed. The Bras d'Or Lake is a sea, within an island (Cape Breton), within an ocean (the Atlantic). It is considered one of Canada's most charismatic ecosystems. Spanning an area of more than 3,500 square kilometers, the region provides a superb and almost limitless opportunity for experiences in pristine nature, among some very unique cultures. This inland sea is the playground for your Cape Breton Sailing Charters adventure. We invite you to spend some time on the water with us, and to do some coastal and hinterland exploring ashore. We will be happy to help you hook up with other experiences in the Bras d'Or Lake Biosphere. More info at http://blbra.ca/

Please have a look through our website, and don't hesitate to call or email if you'd like to book a sailing adventure for summer 2015.

Fair Winds,
