A Historic Departure
Your adventure begins here, at the historic St. Peter's Canal, where you'll meet your captain to board Misty Cat. At St. Peter's, North America's oldest operating tidal lock canal connects the Atlantic Ocean with Cape Breton's magical inland sea... the Bras d'Or Lake. Please join us for a half day, full day, or multi-day sailing experience in Cape Breton.
Hands-on Sailing Experience
First, we'll take a look at the wind and weather forecast, then we'll chart a course for the day's sailing adventure based on sea conditions and your preferences. For example: glide on the wind through island-studded St. Peter's Inlet to the Bras d'Or Lake – you're likely to find eagles, hawks and cormorants overhead; practice at the helm in protected waters, then anchor for a swim and lunch in a private cove.... then out to the Bras d'Or for an afternoon sail on open water!
A very special place
Bras d'Or Lakes and its watershed were recently designated by UNESCO as a World Biosphere Reserve. This special status recognizes one of Canada's most charismatic ecosystems. Spanning an area of more than 3,500 square kilometers, the region provides a superb and almost limitless opportunity for experiences in pristine nature, among some very unique cultures.
The Bras d'Or Lake inland sea is the playground for your Cape Breton Sailing Charters adventure. We invite you to spend some time on the water with us, and to do some coastal and hinterland exploring ashore.
We will be happy to help you hook up with other experiences in the Bras d'Or Lake Biosphere. More info at http://blbra.ca/
Please have a look through our website, and don't hesitate to call or email if you'd like to book a sailing adventure for summer 2016. Whether you're on vacation, celebrating a wedding, team building with associates or having a family reunion, please join us to make your Cape Breton experience unforgettable.
Fair Winds, Captain Greg
